The 30-day Visa is stamped at the airport’s passport control when the foreigner arrives in the country. But, this is not the case if the foreigner is arriving to the country through a land border as he will only be provided a 15-day visa despite being qualified for the 30-day stamp.  A return flight ticket and address of accommodation in the Kingdom are required from the foreigner for this scheme.

Qualified Countries for the Visa Exemption Scheme

To date, at least forty two countries are eligible for the 30-day Visa Exemption Rule. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists these countries as follows:

30-day Visa Extension

In case the 30-day visa is up and you still need to stay for a couple of days to carry out some unfinished activities, you may extend your 30 day visa on or before it expires at the Bureau of Immigration. You will be provided a 7-day extension but depending on your needs the length of extension can be considered. The extension fee is THB 1900.  You would have to present your passport along with your adjusted air ticket.
